Gerald A. Schoenfeld, Jr., Ph.D. (University of Pittsburgh), SPHR, is Chair of the department of  Management and Marketing and an Associate Professor of Management in the College of Business at Florida Gulf Coast University.  He is the director of the Institute for Advances in Human Resource Management at the Center for Leadership and Innovation at FGCU.  Jerry teaches courses in the EMBA, MBA, and undergraduate levels including the MBA Contemporary Management Concepts and Challenege of Leadership courses on a distance basis.  His principal research interests are in the areas of performance appraisal, human resource strategy, and entreprenuership. Jerry has authored numerous academic and practitioner articles on business management and human resource management and has presented his work at many professional conferences and meetings.  He is an active member of a number of professional organizations including the Academy of Management, Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the Society for Human Resource Management where he is the advisor for the award winning FGCU chapter.  Jerry has also consulted extensively in the field of Human Resource Management and his employment history includes having worked for one of the largest International HRM consulting firms.  A partial client list includes: United States Steel, Westinghouse Nuclear Division, Coca-Cola, New York City Police Department, General Motors, PPG Industries and Xerox. Local consulting clients include Bonita Bay Propoerties, Inc., Colonial Bank,  Wilson Miller, Lee Memorial Physicians Group, Gartner, Fifth Third bank, Fiddlesticks Country Club, GE, Collier County Government, Moorings Park, and Cleveland Clinic among others. Jerry's outside interests focus on enjoying the Southwest Florida lifestyle through participation in various outdoor leisure and sport activities.  He coaches youth football, baseball and basketball.
