National Parent to Parent Support and Information System (NPPSIS)

NPPSIS is a Nonprofit Organization established to support, strengthen, and empower families through one-to-one parent contacts. NPPSIS:

  1. Links families nationally whose children have special health care needs and rare disorders.
  2. Provides parents with health care information, resources and referrals to allow them to identify appropriate services.
  3. Encourages families to participate in parent programs and disability organizations to organize advocacy aimed at improving access to the health care system.
  4. Networks parents with local Parent to Parent Organizations for ongoing support at the community level.

Exceptional Parent.com is Exception Parent Magazine's online resource. Continuing 30-award winning years of providing information, support, ideas, encouragement and outreach for parents and families of children with disabilities and the professionals who work with them.

Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD)

CHADD is the national non-profit organization representing children and adults with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD). Founded in 1987 by a group of concerned parents, CHADD works to improve the lives of people with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder through education, advocacy and support.

Council for Exceptional Children (CEC)

The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or the gifted. CEC advocates for appropriate governmental policies, sets professional standards, provides continual professional development, advocates for newly and historically underserved individuals with exceptionalities, and helps professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice.

Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA)

The Learning Disabilities Association of America is a national, non-profit organization. Their purpose is to advance the education and general welfare of children and adults of normal or potentially normal intelligence who manifest disabilities of a perceptual, conceptual, or coordinative nature.

National Information Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities (NICHCY)

NICHCY is the national information and referral center that provides information on disabilities and disability-related issues for families, educators, and other professionals. Their special focus is children and youth (birth to age 22).
