Plasmodium vivax

Plasmodium vivax. Thin blood film (Giemsa's stain, oil immersion). One infected red blood cell contains a young trophozoite showing a double chromatin dot; this cell is not enlarged. The other infected erythrocyte is enlarged and Schüffner's stippling is evident; the organism within already is ameboid and has increased in size.
