Trichuris trichiura

Bee pollen. Bee pollen in fecal smear (unstained, high power). Humans frequently take bee pollen as a supplement to their diets. Pollen grains may be found in the feces of these individuals where they bear a marked resemblance to eggs of the nematodes, Trichuris or Capillaria. Although they have what appear to be polar plugs that are similar to those that occur in the eggs of these nematodes, the internal contents do not resemble an undeveloped ovum. These pollen grains measure 40 to 45 µm long by 20 to 25 µm wide.
