Coccidians

Toxoplasma gondii. Tachyzoites in bronchoalveolar lavage material (Giemsa's stain, oil immersion). Three tachyzoites can be seen in this material from an immunocompromised patient. Two of them, in the middle of the field, are crescent shaped and have a typical large, red-staining nucleus and pale blue cytoplasm.
