Trypanosoma brucei ssp.

Trypanosoma brucei gambiense. Trypomastigotes in mouse thin blood film (Giemsa's stain, oil immersion). They have a small kinetoplast at the posterior end of the body, a central nucleus, and a flagellum that emerges at the anterior end. One organism demonstrates a characteristic feature of African trypanosomes- the presence of dividing forms in the blood stream.
