Taenia spp.

Taenia spp. (saginata and solium): detail of an adult tapeworm, mature proglottids. Gravid T. saginata proglottids measure 19 by 7 mm and have 15-30 uterine branches. T. solium proglottids measure 11 x 5-8 mm and have 7-12 uterine branches. The scolex is square, 1-2 mm in diameter with 4 suckers. T. solium scolex has a rostellum with hooklets.
