Schistosoma japonicum. Egg in Kato/Katz fecal smear (unstained, high power). In Kato/Katz smears, the eggs of this species clear quite rapidly and may be difficult to find when slide preparations are not examined promptly. In such preparations the small spine is almost never seen, as is the case here.
