Paragonimus westermani
Paragonimus westermani. Egg in
feces (unstained, high power). The eggs of this lung fluke are large (80-120
µm by 45-70 µm) and have a relatively thick, golden- brown shell,
a prominent operculum at the broader end, and a thickened abopercular end. They
are unembryonated when discharged from the body in feces or in sputum.
