Metagonimus yokogawai

Metagonimus yokogawai and Clonorchis sinensis. Eggs in fecal smear (unstained, high power). Eggs of these species are often similar in size, as seen here, but the distinctive tapering shape of the Clonorchis egg and its seated operculum readily distinguish it from the egg of Metagonimus. The characteristic knob at the abopercular end of the shell in Clonorchis is often not prominent, as is the case here.
