Mansonella perstans. Microfilaria in thick blood film (hematoxylin stain, high power). This small, unsheathed microfilaria has a densely stained column of nuclei extending to the bluntly rounded posterior end. Landmarks such as the cephalic space and excretory pore and cell are not always clearly demarcated.
