Hymenolepis spp.

Artifact in fecal smear resembling Hymenolepis diminuta (unstained, high power). In this image, the artifact has a clear, thick outer membrane surrounding an inner mass that vaguely resembles an oncosphere, but there are no hooks to be seen. The size of the artifact, approximately 55 µm in diameter, is also much smaller than the egg of H. diminuta.
