Echinococcus granulosis

Echinococcus granulosus. Unilocular hydatid cyst in human lung (hematoxylin and eosin stain, low power). The wall of the cyst clearly shows its three layers. Three brood capsules, each containing multiple protoscoleces, lie next to the germinal layer. Because of the plane of the section, the stalks that attach the brood capsules to the germinal layer are not seen.
