Chilomastix mesnili

Chilomastix mesnili. Cysts in fecal smear (trichrome stain, oil immersion). These three cysts illustrate the variability in size, shape, and appearance that occurs in this species. The larger of these cysts has the classic lemon shape and the nipplelike prominence at one end of the body. The cytostome is faintly visible in two of the organisms.
