Ascaris lumbricoides
Plant cells (starch cells) in feces (iodine
stain, high power). Parenchymatous plant cells are about the same size as Ascaris
lumbricoides eggs. Since they stain brown with iodine, they may he mistaken
for eggs by inexperienced microscopists. However, their irregular contour, the
often compartmented appearance of the internal contents, and the lack of a recognizable
  ovum indicate their plant origin.
