Ascaris lumbricoides

Ascaris lumbricoides. Fertile egg in feces (unstained, high power). Note the characteristic yellowish brown, mamillated external layer of the thick shell. The well-defined ovum is in the one-cell stage, the stage normally found in fresh feces. These eggs measure 55 to 75 mm by 35 to 50 mm.
