This is an Internet course. There are no face to face meetings. It is your responsibility to check the syllabus, WebBoard, modules and other parts of this web site to make sure that you are on track and on time. The course starts Monday evening, Jan. 14, with an online chat from 5:00pm to 6:00pm. Subsequent chats will be held every other Monday, beginning Jan. 21. Participation in chat sessions is optional.

What to do each week?
  1. Check the Announcements conference on WebBoard for any late breaking news from your instructor.

  3. Read the appropriate chapter in the text, using the Focusing Questions to guide your reading. The readings and focusing questions are shown for each module on the Individual Modules page. A Modules Index page links you to each individual module.

  5. Read the Professor's Notes on the topic. There are links to the Professor's Notes within individual modules.

  7. With your virtual group, develop responses to the items presented in Activities and Assignments. Have one member of your virtual group post your response in the correct place on the WebBoard by the deadline. Develop a system for rotating this responsibility among group members.

  9. Voluntary: Look at the Suggested Web Links for the chapter(s).

  11. Voluntary: Participate in an online chat every other Monday evening from 5:00-6:00pm. To chat, choose the Chat conference on the course WebBoard and follow the directions.

How to take the online tests?
  1. Both the midterm and the final exam will be online. More information will be forthcoming on this as the semester progresses. However, America Online users will need to make arrangements either to take the test from a campus lab or to use a different provider to take the tests.
