Sequentiality

Sequentiality can be attained by arranging elements to guide the eye through the screen in an obvious, logical rhythmic, and efficient manner.

The eye is inclined to be attracted to:

  1. A brighter elements before one less bright.
  2. Isolated elements before elements in a group.
  3. Graphics before text.
  4. Color before black and white.
  5. Highly saturated colors before those less saturated.
  6. Dark areas before light areas.
  7. A big element before a small one.
  8. An unusual shape before a usual one.
  9. Big objects before a small object.

The following two examples will demonstrate sequentiality vs. randomness.
