EDF 6215: Homework 2
Question, Answer & Tips Page
Question:
Answer:
TIP: Sometimes students fail
to personalize their responses to this assignment. Instead, they
generalize and make sweeping statements about problem solving in general.
This allows students to distance themselves from the material (which decreases
opportunity for learning) and assumes we are all the same (an assumption
that I find hard to believe).
TIP: The stages are set up in a manner
that suggests there is not resolution at the first stage. If there
is resolution at the first stage, then there is no problem. This
becomes a semantic argument. The best stance to take (in terms of
this assignment) is to assume that a problem is something that does not
have an immediate answer.
TIP: The unconscious is a slippery
beast. Remember, if you are aware of something, then by definition
it is not in the unconscious. However, things can move from the unconscious
to the conscious (and back again!).
TIP: Unlike school teachers, your boss
will never concern him/her self with your self-esteem.
