Introduction to Analysis of Variance
Again, assume no treatment effect
- Each A treatment level group can then be considered to be a random sample from the same population.
- We can compute the variance for each group separately by subtracting each score in the group from the group mean. We divide by the df (no in group - 1).
- We then pool these separate variance estimates.
- They can be considered to be separate estimates of the same thing (Within Group Variance).
- Estimate of Variance within the A groups.
