Introduction to Analysis of Variance
Analysis of Variance Defined (Continued)
- Consider the following experimental design
- We have one experimental variable - Task Difficulty
- We want to use ANOVA to evaluate the error scores obtained when subjects performed the experimental task at different levels of difficulty.
- We usually call this design a COMPLETELY RANDOMIZED DESIGN.
- In this instance, we have 3 levels of one variable (difficulty).
- We will randomly assign six (6) subjects to each of the three cells.
- This means we will have 2 subjects per cell.
