- A basic assumption of ANOVA is that variance is additive.
- We use ANOVA when the experimental design includes two or more means.
- This enables the experimenter to make a decision about the entire group of means.
- e.g. Whether or not there are any statistical differences among the several pair of means.
- ANOVA does not specify which means are different, just whether there are ANY significant differences between any two or more of our pairs of means.
