Reliability of Difference Between Uncorrelated Means (Nᡖ)

Selecting an appropriate level for alpha (a)
- To this point we have mostly assumed that our level of alpha would be .05
 - We can however, set other levels
- .01, .005, .001
 - We can set any level appropriate to our work

 - Setting alpha too strict < .05 increases the likelihood we will accept the null when we should reject it.
 - Setting alpha too high (.10) makes it more likely we will reject when we should accept.
