Hello and welcome to July’s Veterinarian article. I am going to answer the question, “Why do cats throw up balls of hair?”.
Cats groom often and while doing this, they ingest hair. The only way their system can rid this hair is to regurgitate it. There are products made to help with this process. It is called “fur ball medicine” and it is a malt that “greases” their digestive track to help them pass the hairballs.
