1.THE Ilness that i experienced occurred on Oct. 19, 1995,
when I was informed that I had OSTEOSARCOMA. The onset was
slow and deliberate. I did not know that I had the tumor until
it had grown to the size of a half-dollar at the base of my neck.
The tumor was detected when I began to experience pain when I turned
my neck to the left.

2. Diagnosis- The tumor was confirmed by open biopsy and confirmed by the
pathologist at the hospital.

3. patient status- Despite being told that it was cancerous, it was not life-
threatening. I did some research on my own and found out that only 5% of these
these type of tumors were fatal.
4. Recovery- the tumor was removed, and after a six month follow-up determined that
I was cancer free!

5. HEALTH- The difference between the two words is that in HEALTH STATUS
THE PERSON IS NOT COMPLETELY FREE OF THE DISEASE WHICH AFFLICTS THEM.

HEALTH- ACCORDING TO THE WHO, THEY DEFINE HEALTH TO BE " STATE OF COMPLETE PHYSICAL, MENTAL
AND SOCIAL WELL BEING AND NOT MERELY THE ABSENCE OF DISEASE.

6. The new emerging health professions in my opinion are physical therapy based on the data that the
baby boomers are aging and more medical problems are
occuring such fracture of the hip, strokes, heart attacks.

The other ones that feel are exciting are occupational therapy, crisis
counselors, radiologic technologists, nurse practioners.

7. Yes, there is a definite need for health care skill standards. All
healthcare professionals need to adhere to the conduct, standards, professionilism that
that must come forth in everyone we meet each day
