: : : Now it's your time to vent. As a health care consumer yourself, were you ever treated unprofessionally by another health care provider (who probably didn't know you were a health care provider)? And what was your worse patient like?

: : Oh my goodness I remember when I first got a full physical I could recall of being frightened because I hate going to the doctors, well this was after when there was a new law that a nurse had to be present. Well in this case there wasn't one and I was hesitant to ask for one anyways my doctor say hi... and then he tells me to take off my shirt, I'm thinking what kind of physical is this? Well I told him there was nothing under my shirt so why did I have to take it off and then he said "ohh" and preceeded on I felt so uncomfortable that I did not go back there again.

: I think after he said "ohh" asd starte to proceed, I may have asked for a nurse to be present. Though, it is easy to say what I would have done not being in that situation myself. In reality I probably would have been just as nervous as you and said nothing. One time I went to a GYN for the first time and was the last pt of the dy. I heard him ask the nurse if I was young or old. At that time I was in my 20's. He came in and said he was glad I was young and went on to do a brest examination while telling me the difference between the feel of an older womens breasts compared to a younger person.

Yikes! I guess I didn't want to ask because thinking he would say who do u think u are u know so ..i learned my lesson i changed doc the next day
