The Code of Ethics for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary rehabilitaion was designed to aid it's members, collectively and individually to maintain a high level of professional and ethical conduct. It's principle purpose is the improvement of clinical practice, advancing education and promotion of scientific inquiry for the benefit of the pulic. It requires licensed, certified or professional regulated practioners to maintain good standing. Guielines are set up for disclosure of affiliation with the Association and disciplinary action for inappropriate conduct decided upon with the Committee on Ethics and the Board of Directors.
Some changes over the years of the Hippocratic Oath include the swearing of the oath on Appollo, the gods, and goddess vs, todays on the Almighty, family and peers. Other are todays more lenient views on abortion and euthanasia, and the need for the patient consent for treatment.
