1. The decision I made to become a nurse was not quite my decision. I was not satisifed with my job as groundskeeper and decided I needed a change. Therefore, I was looking in the catalogue of the local college. My mother was the one that suggested I look into Nursing. I did and made a decision to go to school in Nursing. Having no idea what nursing was about, I was quite surprised by what the expectations of a nurse were. I didn't receive any career counselling at all. I didn't even know to ask. 2. I will not be a practicing nurse in the future. I have started to make that change 2 years ago. My present education is to allow me to gain the experience and the knowledge that is necessary to move into higher level management and education. I have moved away from necessary because I have discovered that my strengths lie in my management skills. Even though I am in Education, this is really a stepping stone for me to gain my goal. 3. I do agree with the percentages of unsatisfied employees. I think that many people are being overburden with the responsbilities and diminishing resources at work. I also think people feel, rightly so, that work is no longer a safe job. People are being laid off even with many years of services. In my workplace I think job satisfaction comes from completing a job and being recognized for it. The unsatisfaction comes from the threat of losing the job in the changing environment.
