: : : : : : : If you ran an HMO company, how would you look at this issue?

: : : : : : I would look at the quality of the technology for the most reasonable price and go with that facility. If that meant people had to travel, so be it. This comment incidently is not my own personal feeling on this issue, I just think its the way an HMO would think.

: : : : : I agree with you. So, I wonder how much choices would we really have, those of us who belong to HMO's.

: : : : I may be pessimistic but I think we are at their mercy unless we are fortunate enough that money is no issue.

: : : My point exactly. But, we can't blame them. It seems many of us say that the cost of health care is too expensive. Yet, this group just said it would pay more for it as long as it was convient and saved on time. How do we determine what is too expensive?

: : I think that would be a decision that each individual consumer would have to make, if they could afford it or not.
: It seems to me we want someone else to make that decision for us.

I think for some consumers, they would rather be told by their doctors where they could get the best technology and care and then they wouldn't have to face making their own decisions on a tough decision.
