1. I chose my profession because it was offered locally, I didn't have to leave town to obtain my degree. Also, everyone on my mothers side of the family is in nursing. I orginally wanted to go to medical school. So I've always wanted to work in healthcare.
2. Yes, I've been in the profession for 10 years now and I see myself retiring from the profession.
3. Yes, I agree with the 1995 study, especially because of the changes occuring in healthcare today. Reasons for job dissatisfaction in my work place are for two main reasons pay and staff feeling that they cannot provide the quality of care that they used to with the focus on cost reduction at the expense of the frontline employees.
