case 1.
I would choose the 44 yr old physician. She has more to benefit from
if she survives. Her children would have a parent, she can continue to serve the
community and the country with her work. I used the rule utilitarion principle.
case 2.
To not inform the patient that you are a student is misrepresentation. The students options
are to misrepresent herself, tell the patient the truth, or ask to have that patient reassigned to a nurse in
the clinic. The consequences she faces are that if she misrepresents herself and is caught she might not get to sit for boards,
telling the truth the patient might refuse to let her take care of her, the instructor will be upset if she has to redo the assignment.
I would tell the patient the truth and take my chances on patient refusing to let me care for them. with this decision I have not put myself or the patient at risk
case 3.
I believe that in this case to lie to the patient was okay. To tell her the truth would have caused more pain and suffering to the wife and would not have changed the outcome.
