: #1 I know my personal choice in this case study would be to pick the 44 year old white female, mainly because I can relate to the situation, having young children of my own. What will happen to these two kids with no parents to raise them? That is my chief reason for this choice. Secondly being an educated professional in the health field, she would make the most of this new liver. I have my doubts about some of the other candidates "taking care of this liver" being such a scarce and cherished organ.
: Just to throw this in, I have read of such cases where the decision was made by lottery?

: #2In this case, I believe the student is required to wear a name tag with student on it. Given that, I would just do my job, until she discovered the fact that I was a student. If I am properly identified by name badge, why would I even need to mention the subject. If she does and has a problem with it, I will just let her know someone else can take over if that is what makes her more comfortable. I would however not hide any thing from her.

: #3. In this case I do believe that the good outweighed the bad. This gave the lady piece of mind knowing that her husband did not die alone and she was able to say good bye to him, an important part of getting on with the grieving process. Why make her feel guilty for not being there when no harm was done to anyone? I cetainly would have let her keep on think ing he was alive.

How can anyone make a judgement for someone else without knowing the woman or how she feels. Just because you have experience in the healthcare field does not entitle anyone of us to make this very difficult decision.
We have to many of the wrong people making these judgements based on their experience, and not on what might the best for the woman and her family. I personall hope that I never have to tell a family member that their loved
one has passed and no one was there with him.
