: : : : Should the cost for mandated continuing education be who's responsibility the employer or the health care professional?

: : : Mandated CEU's if required for a particular job should be paid be the employer ie ACLS

: : I disagree Peggy. It's a requirement to maintain my job. I seem to be outnumber and I understand the rational, but what is being said that if the employer doesn't come through then it is the fault of the employer that I didn't maintain my license and my job and that is incorrect. It is my responsibility. Now, I wouldn't turn down help from the employer, but again that isn't their responsibility.

: I think you are misunderstanding what I said. I know it is my responsibility to maintain my liscense, but when asked the question should the employer help out, I would be a fool to say no. Perhaps with the employers help, the programs attended would contain more merit and information tahn one's able to be afforded by the individual.
Maryilyn, I agree as long as the employer offers to pay for it then accept. What I am saying is that it shouldn't be an expectation. I also want to state that programs content and merits should not be any different regardless who pays. There are requirements and expectations that the State Board expect programs.
