1. I believe mandated continuing education should be paid for by your employer as an incentive to stay current in your field. Sort of like a reimbursement deal.
2. With my overloaded schedule already, I prefer to do CEU's through some sort of self study, preferably on the internet, though video is ok. I do however think that testing in the clinical setting is also necessary.
3. Some say that mandatory CE is better than none at all. I've seen too many times where these CEU's are earned , but no knowledge has been retained or skills enhanced because answer sheets are shared freeely, courses are taken just for the credit and do not even pertain to their field. I would like to think that CE could be voluntary and therefore a better quality of learning , after all we are professionals, however I do not think this is the case.
