Continuing Professional Development
1. I would like to think the cost for continuing education could be included as part of one’s benefit package which should be negotiated upon employment.
2. Since I have small children I would prefer if the programs would be available locally so I wouldn’t have to travel. I think I could benefit by both interdisciplinary and discipline-specific programs although I would concentrate most of my time in discipline-specific classes. I would also prefer a program that the audience would be able to actively participate rather than a strict lecture type program.
3. Continuing Education should be mandatory. The world of health care is continually changing and technology is always advancing. Some of these new techniques are saving lives. Without keeping your skills and knowledge up to date, you wont be able to provide the care that the paying consumer deserves and lives could be lost unnecessarily.
