In rsponse to charges for services in the ER, sometimes the nurses do not know what the charges will be for certain things such as x-rays, contrast media used for IVP's, ct scans and so on. We, in radiology do not have access to these charges.

So, even Radiology is losing money if we do not know what to charge and the patient either cannot pay or has little or no insurance that will cover the expensive procedures that were done.
