: : : : Let's move on to Marilyn's problem.

: : : Can anyone come up with some goals?

: : Some goals to be 1) to reduce pt waiting time by a certain percentage, and 2) to have the staff of the two departments work better together and be more cooperative and considerate of each other.

: The first goal seems to be reasonable. The last goal is a good goal but diffiuclt to measure.

: When I am doing a procedure within the radiology department, I explain to my patient and the family
that the procedure will take some time. My personal goals is to be sure that both the patient and his
' family understand what is going to happen and the intended use of the information that will obtained.

It is very difficult to reduce patient waiting time unless everything is on time, which is not the case in
most instances. We try the best that we can to get the patient done as quickly as possible, but there are
always some unforeseen delays that are experienced.
