: : : : : : What process and tools would we use?

: : : : : An inservice by the cath lab to the floor nurses regarding
: : : : : the different procedures and approximate time it takes to perform
: : : : : it might decrease miscommunication to patients and families. Also,
: : : : : sending out an updated schedule in the am if cases have been added on or
: : : : : moved around because of emergencies. Forming a team of floor nurses and
: : : : : cath lab staff to problem solve would be a good start

: : : : Yes, this a good idea. An update at least once a month or more often would be needed for awhile I think to get the idea across especially with staff turn around. We used to have a task force comittee that has gradually gone by the wayside. We keep asking to implement it again, but.....
: : : I would be more than happy to help put them team together

: : Is employee turnover rate in hospitals really as high as it sounds?

: Sometimes it's hard to tell because of traveling nurses, prn, change of shifts etc. Peggy could probably answer that better she works with the staffing process for the floors she's responsible for.
The turnover rate for the hospital I work at is about 14% the national average is 20% or there about. My units last year were around 4%
