Affected me many ways. In the summer when we are slow, we are sent home. You can use vacation time, but when that's gone it's no pay. In the winter when it's busy, you stay overtime without much choice. When someone leaves the department, no one is rehired to take their place resulting in long hours with no lunch, extra call time, and more difficulty in getting a day off, more sick time when you get run down.
