Criteria for Grading Paper on the History of Your Profession

Due Date: March 19, 1998

Submission instructions: Papers are to be submitted to Dr. Glacken by 4:00 PM on Thursday, March 19, 1998. Papers submitted after the deadline will lose 5 points for each day late. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that the instructor has received the paper, regardless of how the paper is being submitted. If the paper is electronically submitted, the student is responsible for checking with the instructor prior to the deadline to be certain the paper has been received in full.

Students will submit a research paper describing the historical evolution of their profession.  Topics should include the earliest evidence of the profession; growth progression through the centuries; important events, discoveries, inventions, and people that influenced the profession; evolution of education and training; and a historical perspective of the establishment of license, certification, or registration for the profession.  The body of the paper shall be 10-15 pages in lenfth, double-spaced, typed, and referenced.  The formatting style as outlined in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) is the preferred formatting style.  The paper will consist of the following: cover page; table of contents; body of the text (10-15 pages); and list of references (bibliography).  The cover page, table of contents, and reference page(s) are not to be included in the 10-15 page count of the length of the paper.
