Whether you realize it or not, you are surrounded by TQM in your daily life. Maybe the organization which employs you has adopted TQM principles to conduct business. The grocery store or the home improvement store you visit on a regular basis treat their customers as royalty. One of your instructors at FGCU has assigned a team or group project as a means to evaluate your performance in class. These are all TQM strategies.
Give two examples of TQM in your everyday life. Explain how these examples follow the assumptions required to implement TQM.
Example: I frequently shop at The Home Depot. The sales associates are always courteous and helpful. The customer always comes first. The sales associates are totally involved with their work assignments and this is evidenced by the teamwork among them. Whenever a customer asks a sales associate where to find a particular item, the associate will either direct the customer to the item or to a sales associate in another department who can help them.
