Diversity in Health Care.

  1. Think carefully about a situation in the health care setting in which you interacted with an individual from a different ethnic or cultural background.  Briefly describe the experience, relating how and why this interaction differed from interactions with individuals not of this ethnic or cultural background. Were there any cultural traditions, beliefs, or practices that you had to be made aware of before interacting with the individual?
  2. From your own past experiences and cultural background, name several "home remedies" used for healing, such as chicken soup.
  3. Give an example of a case study where ethnic or cultural diversity played a part in the care and treatment of a patient.
