Before you start:
It is recommened that you print the questions and finish them in a word processor which enables you to spell-check or write your answers directly on your print-out. If you wish to answer directly to the forms on the Web, make sure you have an uninterrupted period of time to finish all the questions and make sure the power will not be cut off while you are working on the Web. If the power is out or if you log out and log on again, your work will be lost.

Give Short Answers to the Following Questions:

2. List the four fields of anthropology and some of the sub fields of each division.

3. Make a list of all the ways to perform participant observation.

4. List all the different colors you can think of without using modifiers such as dark, light, etc.

5. You have just participated in an exercise in ethnoscience. What is that? What are theories?

6. How does the theory of political economy relate to modern Africa?

7. Discuss cross-cultural research. What is it? Develop a hypothesis or question that you would like to know or test about differences among cultures. For example, do all cultures have a reply to "thank you, " such as "you're welcome" in our culture?

8. Why is a random sample of the sampling universe so important in statistical surveys?

9. Read about Dr. Stearman from the comment section and explain her research her work in ecological anthropology.

10. Develop a question regarding how child rearing practices enculturate children from different cultures to have different personality traits. Following the section, "Evidence: Testing Explanations" (p. 56) outline how you might go about testing your question.
